jee advanced 2024: This year, about 14 lakh students have registered for JEE Mains for admission in top engineering colleges like IIT, NIT and Triple IT. Of these, students wishing to take admission in IIT will have to pass JEE Advanced exam with good rank after JEE Mains.

Who can appear in JEE Advanced?

  • -For JEE Advanced, there should be at least 75 percent marks in 12th. For reserved category it is 65 percent.
  • -JEE Advanced exam can be given only twice. Whether fail or pass.

What is the rank required in JEE Main for JEE Advanced?

To appear in JEE Advanced, one must be within the top 2,50,000 rank in JEE Main. The percentage of candidates from different categories to be shortlisted is as follows- 10% for Gen-EWS, 27% for OBC-NCL, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST and the remaining 40.5% is open for all. . Within each of these five categories, there is 5% horizontal reservation for PwD candidates.

Age limit for JEE Advanced

To appear in JEE Advanced, candidates must be born after October 1, 1999. Whereas SC, ST and disabled candidates should be born after October 1, 1994.

What rank does IIT get in JEE Advanced?

Those who score at least 40% in JEE Advanced get around 6000 rank. However, the total score varies every year. But 6000 rank is considered safe. The cutoff will also be released on the basis of opening and closing ranks of JEE Advanced 2024 for all IITs. The cutoff is different for each IIT.
